Welcome to ICTD 2020, the International Conference of Information and Communication Technologies on Development

As we record all presentations, we are slowly adding them to our website. You can find all media  on the media web page, under Virtual Conferencing. We have also added links to individual session papers and notes in each page. You can also read conference proceedings which can be accessed through our menu tab. 

Due to the spreading COVID-19 Pandemic, the 11th International ICTD Conference is being held in a virtual format. Originally, ICTD 2020 was to be hosted by Ecuador’s leading technical university, ESPOL in Guayaquil. 

The ICTD community sends its best wishes to our colleagues in Guayaquil, which has been particularly hard hit by the COVID-19 crisis.


Update: June 15th 2020

Zoom IDs for paper sessions have been added here

Please see email from cmaitland@ist.psu.edu (Carleen Maitland) sent June 15th. It contains both the Zoom IDs as well as the password to access the webpage with the Zoom IDs. IDs for poster sessions will be added soon.

The Conference Program has been updated including information about our keynotes speakers. Please use the link in the menu to see details. 

we have also asked the presenters to upload a copy of their presentation to be used in case of any disruptions or technical difficulties at the time of the conference. We appreciate your cooperation with the conference team in these hard times. 


COVID-19 Update: April 14th 2020

We are moving forward with our plans to hold ICTD 2020 virtually. We are collecting information about presenter time zones. Please look for an email from PC chair Nicki Dell and Indrani Medhi-Thies. Also, Registration is now open. Please use the registration link or see the registration page. 


COVID-19 Update: March 30th 2020

As travel restrictions are likely to continue well into June, we’ve made the decision to transition the conference to a virtual format. We’ll likely use Zoom, and hold the conference during the original dates. This will be a learning experience for all of us. We look forward to working together to make it a wonderful experience! Publication via the ACM Digital Library will continue as planned.


Registration will open in mid-April and continue until a few days prior to the conference. To provide online security, only those registered will be able to participate.
